Plantation campaign in Rawalpindi

A tree plantation campaign was launched by the Rawal Town Municipal Administration on Friday.
More than 6,000 saplings would be planted under the TMA plan in various parks and on green belts.
The Rawal town officer, Qasim Niazi, according to a statement issued here, has issued directives to the horticulture branch to make arrangements for planting the saplings in order to make the campaign a success.
The TMA, the statement said, had also instructed officials concerned to initiate work to improve the condition of 21 public parks. It also directed for establishing four new parks, one each in Satellite Town Bblock, Dhoke Paracha, Asghar Mall Scheme and National Market.
Arshad Warriach, the administrator of the TMA, has directed the municipal officials to better the condition of the Murree Road, Saidpur Road, Khyaban-i-Sir Syed, and the Fourth Road in Satellite Town.
To mark the advent of spring, the TMA, according to the statement, would also organize flower exhibitions at the DSP Park and the Sirajia Park.
