OGDCL head summoned in gas royalty case

The Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court has issued a notice to the managing director of the Oil and Gas Development Company to appear in court in a petition filed by Talal Bugti, who is seeking dues outstanding in the head of royalty for gas got from his land in the province of Balochistan.
Justice Asad Munir of the LHC summoned the managing director on March 17, asking him to explain why the outstanding dues were not being released to Talal Bugti for seven years.
Through his counsel Rafiqur Rehman Sanjrani, Talal Bugti sought recovery of the dues outstanding against company since the year 2003.
The respondents in the case are the managing director of the OGDCL, secretary for the Establishment Division and the chief secretary of Balochistan.
Talal Bugti prayed the court to order the federal government and the Oil and Gas Development Company against issuing payment cheques to the provincial government of Balochistan and, instead, make the payment to the legal heirs of Nawab Akbar Bugti.
